Are you passionate about helping young people succeed?Hays Education are working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive secondary school in Huddersfield to recruit a Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant. This is an exciting opportunity to support students who may require additional guidance, encouragement and behavioural support to achieve their full potential.The role will involve working on a 1:1 basis with individual students as well as supporting small groups, helping them engage positively with their learning and school environment.
What you'll be doing:
Providing 1:1 support to students with behavioural, social or emotional needs
Delivering small group interventions aimed at improving engagement and confidence
Building positive, trusting relationships with students
Supporting teachers in managing behaviour and maintaining a positive learning environment
Encouraging student participation, independence and personal development
Working closely with pastoral staff, SEN teams and teaching colleaguesWhat we're looking for:
Experience working with young people in a school, youth work, mentoring, coaching or similar setting
Strong behaviour management and relationship-building skills
A calm, patient and resilient approach
Confidence working with students who may display challenging behaviour
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
