Behaviour Support Worker - Halifax

About the role:

Justteachers is looking to appoint a motivated Behaviour Support Worker to join a welcoming school in the Halifax area on a long-term basis.

This full-time position is set to begin in September, with shortlisting already in progress. The school is dedicated to maintaining a calm and supportive learning environment, with a strong emphasis on promoting positive behaviour and supporting pupils’ emotional development.

Key Responsibilities:

• Providing support to pupils experiencing behavioural and emotional challenges throughout the school day
• Assisting in the delivery of behaviour support plans and encouraging positive decision-making
• Working alongside teaching staff and pastoral teams to support pupils’ engagement and progress

Pre-requisites:

• Previous experience working in a behaviour support, pastoral, or SEND-focused role
• Experience supporting children or young people with behavioural or SEMH needs
• An understanding of behaviour management approaches and de-escalation techniques
• Two education or school-based references
