About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly trained and resilient Biohazard Cleaning Technician to join their specialized team in Cambridge . This critical role involves the safe and effective remediation of sites contaminated with biohazardous materials, including crime scenes, trauma sites, and areas affected by infectious diseases. You will work with advanced containment and decontamination technologies, adhering to the strictest safety protocols and regulations. This position demands a high level of professionalism, discretion, and the physical and mental fortitude to handle challenging environments, ensuring public safety and peace of mind.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely clean, disinfect, and decontaminate scenes affected by biohazardous materials according to established protocols.
• Utilise specialised equipment and chemicals for containment, removal, and disposal of biohazards.
• Adhere strictly to all health, safety, and environmental regulations, including OSHA and EPA standards.
• Wear and maintain appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times during operations.
• Properly package, transport, and dispose of hazardous waste in compliance with all applicable laws.
• Provide clear and concise documentation of all services performed, including detailed reports and photographic evidence.

Requirements

• Previous experience in biohazard remediation, crime scene cleaning, or similar specialised cleaning fields.
• Certification in relevant areas such as IICRC-certified, OSHA HAZWOPER is highly desirable.
• Comprehensive understanding of bloodborne pathogens, infectious diseases, and containment procedures.
• Ability to work under pressure in emotionally challenging and physically demanding situations in Cambridge .
• Excellent problem-solving skills and a meticulous attention to detail.
