Biomass Technician

We are recruiting an Operations and Maintenance Technician to help run and maintain a biomass energy plant based near Lampeter. Scroll down for a complete overview of what this job will require Are you the right candidate for this opportunity You dont necessarily need previous biomass experience. Were interested in people who have worked with industrial machinery within manufacturing, engineering, utilities, power generation or another process-based environment. What will you be doing? Youll work as part of a small technical team, helping to keep the plant running safely, reliably and efficiently. Your duties will include: Monitoring the plants controls, readings and performance Carrying out regular plant and equipment checks Completing routine mechanical or electrical maintenance Responding to faults and breakdowns Adjusting plant settings to improve efficiency Making sure the boiler receives the correct amount and quality of fuel Taking samples and recording plant performance information Supporting visiting engineers and maintenance contractors Helping with plant improvements and the installation of new equipment Keeping the plant clean, organised and safe What are we looking for? You could be suitable if you have experience as a: Maintenance Technician Mechanical or Electrical Technician Process Operator Plant Operator Utilities Technician Boiler Operator Multi-Skilled Engineer You will need: Experience operating industrial equipment or working within a manufacturing or process environment Mechanical or electrical maintenance experience A practical, hands-on approach to problem-solving The confidence to work independently and as part of a small team A strong understanding of health and safety Flexibility to work shifts and provide some call-out cover An electrical or mechanical apprenticeship, NVQ, HNC or similar qualification would be useful. Candidates who have recently completed an apprenticeship will also be considered. Previous experience within biomass, power generation or boiler operations would be helpful, but it is not essential.
