Bladder and Renal Clinical Nurse Specialist

We are looking for an experienced and compassionate Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our team and provide specialist nursing care and support to patients with bladder and renal cancer.

You will provide high-quality, personalised care to patients and their relatives/carers across inpatient and outpatient settings, working closely with the multidisciplinary team to ensure patients receive the best possible experience and outcomes.

You will be working alongside the Consultant Urologist in supporting patients referred through the two-week-rule with suspected bladder or renal cancer.

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated nurse who is passionate about cancer care and wants to make a positive difference to patients and their families.

The nurse specialist is an experienced registered nurse with the necessary skills to assess and treat patients and manage the clinical environment, in liaison with the management and consultant team. The nurse will act as an autonomous practitioner and as a core member of the multi-disciplinary team within Urology to provide the highest possible standards of care for patients with urological disease. This will involve triaging new patients through investigations to a diagnosis whereby the patient will either be discharged into the community or referred on to the bladder and renal cancer CNS.

The CNS will develop new areas of practice, with nursing and consultant staff, ensuring the Trust's quality standards is met. They will work closely with the interdisciplinary team and collaborate with colleagues to ensure that high quality patient care is maintained.

The post holder will work in conjunction with the existing Clinical Nurse Specialists and provide advanced nursing care to patients with bladder and renal cancers by coordinating the patient journey.
