Blockchain Engineer - Smart Contracts

About the Role

Our client is looking for a talented Blockchain Engineer with a focus on smart contracts to join their growing team in Sunderland . You will be responsible for the end-to-end development lifecycle of smart contracts, from conception and design to deployment and maintenance. Working closely with product and engineering teams, you will help build secure, efficient, and innovative decentralized applications. This role is perfect for an engineer passionate about the potential of blockchain technology and eager to contribute to pioneering projects in the crypto world.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and deploy secure and efficient smart contracts on blockchain platforms like Ethereum.
• Write clean, well-documented, and maintainable smart contract code using languages such as Solidity.
• Collaborate with front-end developers to integrate smart contracts with user interfaces.
• Perform rigorous testing and auditing of smart contracts to identify and fix vulnerabilities.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to the continuous improvement of development processes.
• Research and implement best practices for smart contract development and security in the crypto space .

Requirements

• Solid experience in smart contract development , particularly with Solidity.
• Understanding of blockchain architecture, consensus mechanisms, and the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM).
• Familiarity with blockchain development tools and frameworks (e.g., Truffle, Hardhat, Ganache).
• Experience with unit testing, integration testing, and security auditing of smart contracts.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
