Blockchain Security Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Blockchain Security Engineer to join their innovative team, operating on a hybrid model from their Oxford office. You will be at the forefront of safeguarding their blockchain infrastructure, smart contracts, and decentralized applications against evolving threats. This role requires a deep understanding of blockchain vulnerabilities and robust security principles. You will collaborate closely with development teams to ensure the highest standards of security are embedded into every aspect of their crypto and blockchain products. Key Responsibilities

• Perform security audits and code reviews for smart contracts and blockchain protocols.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate security vulnerabilities within the blockchain ecosystem.
• Develop and implement security frameworks, tools, and best practices for blockchain development.
• Monitor blockchain networks and applications for security breaches and anomalies.
• Conduct threat modeling and risk assessments for new blockchain projects and features.
• Respond to and manage security incidents, performing root cause analysis and implementing preventative measures.
• Stay current with the latest security threats, exploits, and countermeasures in the blockchain space.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in cybersecurity engineering, with a specialization in blockchain security .
• Strong understanding of blockchain technology, smart contracts, and common vulnerabilities (e.g., reentrancy, integer overflows).
• Proficiency in smart contract auditing tools and static/dynamic analysis techniques.
• Experience with security testing methodologies and penetration testing.
• Knowledge of cryptography, network security, and secure coding practices.
• Familiarity with incident response and security monitoring tools.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively in a hybrid setup in Oxford .
