About the Role

Our client is seeking a diligent and organized Bookkeeper to manage their financial records and transactions in Derby . This hands-on role is crucial for maintaining the accuracy of the company's financial data, ensuring that all bookkeeping tasks are completed efficiently and correctly. You will be responsible for recording financial transactions, managing ledgers, and supporting the wider finance team with reporting. Key Responsibilities

• Record daily financial transactions, including sales, purchases, receipts, and payments, into the accounting system.
• Maintain and balance subsidiary accounts and general ledger.
• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions accurately and in a timely manner.
• Prepare bank reconciliations and reconcile various financial accounts.
• Assist with payroll processing and related tasks as required.
• Support the preparation of financial statements and management reports.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar accounting role.
• Proficiency with bookkeeping software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, Sage) and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting principles.
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in recording financial data.
• Good organizational and time management skills, able to meet deadlines.
• Effective communication skills for internal liaison within the Derby office.
