About the Role

Are you an energetic, reliable, and nurturing individual looking for flexible morning hours?

We are seeking dedicated Breakfast Club Assistants for ad-hoc day bookings across primary schools in DE4 and SK17. In this role, you will help kickstart the children's school day in a welcoming, safe, and positive environment. You will assist with setting up breakfast, serving healthy food, and supervising morning activities, games, or quiet time before classes begin.

Core Responsibilities & Duties:

• Club Preparation & Service: Set up the breakfast area, prepare food and drinks (such as cereal, toast, and juice), and serve pupils efficiently between 07:45 and 08:45.

• Morning Supervision: Supervise children during breakfast and lead engaging, low-key morning activities, games, or reading time.

• Safe Transition: Ensure children transition smoothly and safely from the breakfast club into their designated morning classrooms or school lines.

• Health, Safety & Hygiene: Maintain high standards of food hygiene, cleanliness, and safety across the breakfast club environment.

• Pastoral Care: Provide a warm, reassuring start to the day for children, offering a friendly ear and supporting their emotional well-being before lessons start.

Essential Skills & Experience:

• Proven experience working with primary school-aged children in a school, childcare, or youth work setting.

• Reliable, punctual, and adaptable with a flexible approach to ad-hoc daily work.

• Strong communication skills and a friendly, approachable demeanor when dealing with pupils, parents, and school staff.

Qualifications & Certifications

• Relevant background in childcare, playwork, or education support.

• A fully enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one) alongside up-to-date safeguarding training.

• Food hygiene certificate or first aid certification is highly desirable (or willingness to complete).
