BSL Teaching Assistant - Newcastle upon Tyne (Full-Time)

Protocol Education is recruiting a full-time BSL Teaching Assistant to join a specialist educational setting in Newcastle upon Tyne. This rewarding role will involve supporting deaf and hearing-impaired pupils, helping them access learning, communicate confidently and participate fully in school life.

Working closely with teachers and support staff, you'll play a key role in ensuring pupils receive the support they need to develop academically, socially and emotionally.

What you'll be doing

Supporting deaf and hearing-impaired pupils within lessons Using British Sign Language (BSL) to aid communication Providing 1:1 and small-group support Helping pupils access learning materials Encouraging confidence and independence Supporting social interaction and communication skills Working collaboratively with teaching staff Monitoring and celebrating pupil progress

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
