Building Control Surveyor (Registered Building Inspector)

Location: Lambeth, London Rate: £387.46 per day (Umbrella) Contract: Temporary

We are seeking an experienced Building Control Surveyor / Registered Building Inspector (RBI) to join a busy Building Control team in Lambeth.

The successful candidate will manage a caseload of Building Regulations applications, carrying out plan assessments, site inspections and compliance checks in accordance with relevant legislation, including the Building Regulations, Building Act, London Building Acts and Building Safety Act.

Key Responsibilities

Assess Building Regulations applications and issue Decision Notices.

*

Undertake plan appraisals, calculations and technical submissions.

*

Carry out site inspections across the borough.

*

Provide professional advice to builders, architects and other stakeholders.

*

Deal with enforcement and dangerous structures where required.

*

Maintain accurate inspection records and application administration.

*

Liaise with internal departments and external agencies.

*

Support and supervise junior Registered Building Inspectors within your competence.

Requirements

*

Registered Building Inspector with Class 2A–2F competence.

*

Strong knowledge of Building Regulations and associated legislation.

*

Relevant Building Control surveying experience.

*

Experience undertaking plan assessments and site inspections.

*

Excellent communication, organisational and technical skills.

*

Ability to work independently and manage a varied caseload.

Mandatory: Must have a UK Passport or a Full Right to Work in the UK
