Building Safety Manager

As Building Safety Manager, you will:

Prepare and submit Building Assessment Certificate (BAC) applications for Higher Risk Buildings. Develop and maintain Safety Case Reports, Resident Engagement Strategies and Mandatory Occurrence Reporting systems. Produce and maintain building safety risk assessments relating to fire and structural failure. Identify hazards, assess risks and implement effective control measures. Escalate deficiencies and non-compliance issues where controls are inadequate. Create, review and maintain emergency plans for Higher Risk Buildings. Liaise with the Building Safety Regulator through the designated contact. Work collaboratively with internal teams, consultants and contractors to ensure compliance with the Building Safety Act 2022 and associated regulations. Partner closely with Fire Safety and Development teams to maintain the Golden Thread of Building Information. Undertake building inspections and report on defects, risks and required improvement works. Support procurement activities and contribute to client briefs where improvement works are required. Provide specialist building safety advice across the organisation. Deliver building safety awareness training to internal stakeholders. Support planning, building control and listed building consent processes when required. Attend resident meetings and promote a positive building safety culture within Westminster's housing stock. What We Expect This Role to Achieve Implement effective safety management systems across all allocated Higher Risk Buildings. Protect residents and building users from risks associated with fire and structural failure. Secure Building Assessment Certificate approvals for all buildings within remit. Promote and embed a strong building safety culture across Westminster City Council. Ensure compliance with all relevant building safety legislation and regulatory requirements.
