Building Services Engineer - Mechanical Bias

About the Role

Our client is seeking a proficient Building Services Engineer with a strong Mechanical focus to join their Installation & Maintenance team in Norwich . This role is crucial for ensuring the optimal performance and longevity of mechanical building systems within commercial and residential properties. You will be involved in the installation, maintenance, and repair of HVAC, plumbing, and other mechanical systems, contributing to comfortable, safe, and efficient environments for building occupants. Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and participate in the installation of mechanical building services, including HVAC, plant rooms, and hot/cold water systems.
• Conduct planned preventative maintenance and reactive repairs on a range of mechanical systems.
• Diagnose faults and implement effective solutions for complex mechanical issues.
• Interpret mechanical design drawings, specifications, and schematics.
• Ensure all mechanical installations and maintenance activities comply with building regulations and safety standards.
• Liaise with contractors, clients, and other stakeholders to ensure project requirements are met.

Requirements

• Degree or HND/HNC in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Substantial experience in building services engineering, with a focus on mechanical systems.
• Strong understanding of HVAC systems, plumbing, and thermal dynamics.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting mechanical engineering drawings.
• Experience in site supervision and project coordination is advantageous.
• Good communication skills and ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in Norwich .
