About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly competent Building Services Engineer to join their facilities management team in Sheffield . This role is crucial for overseeing and coordinating the maintenance and operational efficiency of all building services, including mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems across a portfolio of properties. You will be responsible for ensuring systems are running optimally, planning maintenance schedules, and managing minor projects. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer who enjoys a blend of hands-on involvement and strategic planning, contributing to the functionality and safety of buildings in the South Yorkshire region.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain mechanical and electrical building services, including HVAC, lighting, power distribution, and water systems.
- Develop and implement planned preventative maintenance programs for all building services.
- Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues related to building systems.
- Oversee contractors and external suppliers engaged in maintenance and repair work.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant building regulations, health, and safety legislation.
- Assist in the planning and execution of minor capital projects and refurbishments.
Requirements
- Relevant qualification or degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or Building Services.
- Significant experience in a building services engineering or facilities management role.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical systems, and plumbing in a commercial or industrial setting.
- Proficiency in interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
- Excellent organizational, project management, and communication skills.
