About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated and skilled Building Services Engineer to join their facilities management team in Brighton . This role is fundamental to the upkeep and operational efficiency of our commercial properties, focusing on the maintenance and repair of essential building systems, including electrical, mechanical, and plumbing services. You will play a key part in ensuring a safe, comfortable, and productive environment for all occupants. We are looking for an individual with a broad range of technical skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving and preventative maintenance.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on all building services systems.
• Diagnose and repair faults across electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems.
• Respond promptly to building emergencies and maintenance requests.
• Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Manage minor works and oversee contractors for larger projects.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and system performance.

Requirements

• Proven experience in a multi-skilled building services or facilities maintenance role.
• Strong understanding of electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems common in commercial buildings.
• Ability to use a range of hand and power tools effectively and safely.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively with colleagues and occupants.
• A willingness to undertake further training as required.
