Building Services Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a knowledgeable and detail-oriented Building Services Engineer to join their team in Bristol . You will be responsible for the design, installation, and maintenance of integrated building systems, including mechanical, electrical, and public health services. This role is critical in ensuring that buildings are safe, comfortable, energy-efficient, and compliant with all relevant regulations. You will work closely with architects, project managers, and contractors to deliver high-quality building solutions that meet client needs and sustainability goals within the Bristol area.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and specify mechanical and electrical building services systems in line with project requirements.
• Oversee the installation and commissioning of building services systems on construction sites.
• Conduct site surveys and inspections to assess existing systems and identify maintenance needs.
• Prepare technical reports, drawings, and specifications for building services installations.
• Ensure compliance with current building regulations, health and safety legislation, and environmental standards.
• Manage budgets and timelines for building services projects, liaising with suppliers and subcontractors.

Requirements

• Degree or HND/HNC in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Proven experience in the design and management of building services installations.
• Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems.
• Proficiency in using CAD software for design and drafting.
• Knowledge of sustainable building practices and energy efficiency measures.
• Excellent project management and communication skills.
