Building Surveyor - Passive Fire Protection, Repairs & Refurbishment Projects
Location: Oxfordshire
Salary: Up to £85,000 DOE + £450 Car Allowance + Fuel Card + Benefits
Are you a Building Surveyor / Passive Fire Surveyor with experience across Local Authority, Social Housing or Public Sector environments? Do you have a strong background in passive fire protection, Fire Risk Assessment (FRA) remedial works, fire-stopping, compartmentation and building compliance projects?
We're recruiting for a growing consultancy seeking an experienced Building Surveyor to deliver a range of passive fire, surveying and project management services across public sector and social housing property portfolios.
The Role
Undertake passive fire surveys, inspections, condition assessments and defect diagnosis across residential and public sector properties.
Lead FRA remedial works, fire-stopping, compartmentation and passive fire protection projects from inception through to completion.
Identify defects and non-compliance relating to fire doors, fire stopping, cavity barriers, compartment walls/floors and fire-resisting construction.
Prepare specifications, schedules of works, tender documentation and cost estimates for passive fire and wider refurbishment projects.
Manage contractors and undertake contract administration, quality inspections and project delivery.
Review remedial works and ensure they are delivered in accordance with relevant fire safety requirements, specifications and statutory standards.
Provide technical advice to clients on passive fire protection, building compliance, maintenance strategies and remedial requirements.
Produce clear technical reports and recommendations for Local Authority, Housing Association and public sector clients.
Build strong relationships with clients, contractors and other project stakeholders.
About You
Degree qualified in Building Surveying, Construction, Fire Safety or a related discipline.
RICS qualification or working towards RICS desirable.
Previous experience within Local Authorities, Housing Associations, Social Housing or the Public Sector.
Strong knowledge of passive fire protection, compartmentation, fire-stopping and FRA remedial works.
Experience of fire safety surveys, defect diagnosis, specifications and project management.
Good understanding of building regulations, fire safety legislation and relevant passive fire standards.
Experience managing contractors and overseeing remedial or refurbishment projects.
Strong report-writing, communication and client-facing skills.
Full UK driving licence.
