Job Description
Building Surveyor (Residential Major Works Projects) - London – c£60k
Our client is a long-established private practice overseeing a portfolio of properties across London and the inner M25 for freeholder and resident management company clients.
With several major works projects ongoing and planned, they now seek to hire a Building Surveyor / Major Works Surveyor as follows:
- Degree or equivalent in Building Surveying (RICS not essential)
- 3 years Building Surveying experience
- Hybrid working, splitting time between home, the office (London) and sites
- Housing / residential background desirable, particularly leasehold project works (under S20)
- Project management of major projects including remediation works (window/balcony replacements, internal/external redecorations etc.).
- Preparation of Long-Term Maintenance Plans (CapEx) for budget provision
- Preparation of building insurance reinstatement cost assessments.
- Condition surveys and defect diagnosis.
- Specification, tender preparation and contract administration on repair and maintenance projects (£20-250k typical value range)
- Understanding of H&S and CDM Regulations.
- Provide technical advice to clients.
The suitable Building Surveyor / Major Works Surveyor will live within commuting range of London / the inner M25 and have a stable career history demonstrating relevant building surveying experience.
Salary for the successful Building Surveyor / Major Works Surveyor will start at up to £60k with reviews and uplifts based on tenure and performance.
