Building Surveyor

About the Role

Our client is seeking a diligent and experienced Building Surveyor to join their team serving the Bradford area and surrounding regions. This role involves providing a wide range of professional surveying services, including property inspections, defect diagnosis, contract administration, and dilapidations advice. You will work with commercial and residential clients, ensuring the integrity and compliance of buildings throughout their lifecycle. The hybrid model offers a balance of on-site inspections and remote report writing and client communication, suitable for a self-motivated professional.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive building surveys, identifying defects and recommending appropriate remedial actions.
• Prepare detailed specifications and schedules of works for building repairs and maintenance projects.
• Administer construction contracts, managing projects from inception to completion.
• Provide advice on building regulations, planning permissions, and property law.
• Undertake dilapidations assessments and negotiate settlements on behalf of landlords or tenants.
• Prepare reports and present findings clearly and concisely to clients and stakeholders.

Requirements

• A degree or diploma in Building Surveying or a related discipline.
• Professional membership of RICS or similar body is preferred.
• Proven experience in building surveying, including surveys, contract administration, and defect diagnosis.
• Strong understanding of construction techniques, materials, and building pathology.
• Excellent report writing and communication skills.
