Job Title: Regional Business Development Manager
Basic Salary: £30,000 – £35,000
OTE: £40,000+ depending on performance
Hours: Monday to Friday, 40hrs (with flexible hours between 07:00 and 18:00)
Location: Northampton & Leicester
Your Job Summary:
Drive new business development across the Central region, covering Northampton and Leicester.
Proactively identify and approach new customers through face-to-face prospecting, networking, referrals and local market research.
Build strong relationships with new and existing customers, understanding their requirements and identifying opportunities across hire, sales, service and parts.
Develop a strong pipeline of opportunities and take ownership of smaller opportunities through to agreement.
Qualify larger opportunities before handing them over to the Area Sales Managers for further development and closure.

Generate new leads through proactive field-based prospecting, customer visits, door knocking, networking and referrals.
Develop existing customer relationships and identify additional commercial opportunities.
Arrange and attend customer meetings, understand their requirements and recommend appropriate solutions.
Prepare clear and commercially appropriate quotations.
Qualify larger hire and sales opportunities and provide effective handovers to the Area Sales Managers.
Research the local market and identify new sectors, customers and business opportunities.
Maintain accurate records of all prospecting, customer contact, follow-ups and opportunities on the CRM.
Use CRM information to prioritise activity, manage follow-ups and maximise conversion.
Work closely with the wider sales team to ensure opportunities are progressed effectively.Experience you will need:
Experience in sales, business development, customer service or another customer-facing role.
A genuine appetite for winning new business and creating opportunities from scratch.
Confidence approaching new customers and building relationships with decision-makers and operational teams.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Resilience, persistence and a proactive approach to prospecting and follow-up.
Commercial awareness and the ability to understand customer needs.
Good organisational skills and the ability to manage a territory effectively.
Confidence using Microsoft Office, email and CRM systems.
A willingness to learn and develop.
Materials Handling or similar industry experience would be advantageous but is not essential.Your Package:· Basic Salary: £30,000 – £35,000
