Valente Consulting is looking for an experienced Business Development Manager to sell our high-ticket business education and growth programmes to ambitious business owners.
About the Role
Our core offer is the Seven-Figure Business Academy, available as either a one-year or three-year programme. The Academy is designed to help business owners build stronger, more profitable and scalable companies.
The programme provides practical training, implementation support and accountability across all key areas of business growth, including marketing and lead generation, sales and conversion, systems and processes, recruitment and team building, leadership and management, accounting and financial understanding, cash flow and business finance, and operations, strategy and growth planning.
This is not an entry-level sales role. We are looking for a commercially experienced B2B salesperson who can confidently engage with business owners, understand their challenges, build value around education and personal development, and close high-value sales.
The Sales Process
The Business Development Manager will take ownership of the full sales journey. They will be responsible for contacting incoming business enquiries, qualifying prospects and booking suitable business owners onto one of our workshop days.
The BDM will then attend the workshop, build relationships with attendees and conduct face-to-face sales consultations to present and sell the most appropriate Seven-Figure Business Academy programme.
The successful candidate must be equally confident selling over the telephone and face-to-face. They must be able to build trust quickly, ask commercially intelligent questions, identify the challenges preventing a business from growing and clearly communicate how the Academy can help business owners achieve their growth ambitions.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will respond to new business enquiries promptly and professionally, conducting thorough qualification and discovery calls to understand each prospect's business, turnover, challenges and growth objectives. They will build value around attending a Valente Consulting workshop, secure workshop bookings and maintain regular contact with prospects to maximise attendance.
They will attend workshop events, establish strong relationships with attendees and conduct structured face-to-face consultations. The role involves presenting the one-year and three-year Seven-Figure Business Academy programmes, demonstrating the value of education, implementation, accountability and business growth support.
The Business Development Manager will confidently handle objections relating to price, time, commitment, risk and return on investment. They will discuss approved payment options and business-finance solutions where appropriate, close high-ticket agreements worth £10,000 or more, complete all associated contracts and documentation accurately, and follow up effectively with prospects who do not make an immediate decision.
In addition, they will maintain accurate CRM records, manage a structured sales pipeline, track follow-up activities and consistently achieve targets relating to calls, workshop attendance, conversion rates, revenue generation and cash collection.
Experience Required
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five years' B2B sales experience and a strong track record of selling directly to business owners, founders and directors. They will have proven success selling high-ticket products or services valued at £10,000 or more and will be highly skilled in both telephone sales and face-to-face closing.
Experience managing prospects through a multi-stage sales process is essential, as is a history of successfully converting enquiries into appointments, events or workshop attendance. Candidates should demonstrate a consistent record of achieving or exceeding sales targets and possess strong objection-handling, negotiation and closing skills.
Applicants should also be comfortable presenting proposals, explaining commercial agreements and discussing payment structures. Strong CRM experience is required, including managing sales pipelines, forecasts, notes and follow-up activity. Previous experience selling education, coaching, consulting, training, mastermind groups or professional development programmes would be highly advantageous.
Education and High-Ticket Sales
The successful candidate must understand how to sell the value of business education and personal development. They should be able to demonstrate how investment in knowledge, skills and leadership capability can directly influence long-term business performance.
They will be comfortable discussing improvements in leadership and decision-making, lead generation, sales performance, recruitment, team management, systems development, financial understanding and profitability. They should confidently explain the benefits of expert guidance, proven frameworks and accountability, while helping business owners understand how education can accelerate growth, reduce costly mistakes and build the foundations required to scale successfully.
The successful candidate must be able to professionally and ethically communicate the value of investing £10,000, £20,000 or more into business growth programmes without making unrealistic commitments or guarantees.
Business Finance and Contracts
Although the Business Development Manager does not need to be a qualified financial adviser, they should have a strong understanding of how business finance can support high-value B2B purchases. They should be comfortable discussing cash payments, instalment options and approved finance facilities while understanding basic affordability and cash-flow considerations.
The successful candidate should be able to explain why many businesses choose to preserve working capital and position finance as a tool for investment rather than a discount mechanism. They will work closely with internal finance or funding teams where required and ensure prospects understand that all finance arrangements remain subject to lender approval and terms.
They must also be confident explaining key commercial terms within B2B agreements and ensuring that all commitments made during the sales process accurately reflect the written contract.
CRM and Pipeline Management
Strong CRM discipline is essential. The successful candidate will maintain detailed and accurate records of every interaction, capturing each prospect's business situation, challenges, objectives and objections. They will maintain accurate deal stages, forecast values and next-step actions while ensuring that all follow-up activity is completed promptly.
The role requires effective tracking of workshop bookings, attendance levels and sales outcomes, as well as maintaining an accurate and up-to-date pipeline. Candidates should be capable of providing reliable reporting and using CRM systems effectively to support sales performance. Experience with HubSpot or a similar CRM platform would be advantageous.
Personal Attributes
We are looking for a commercially mature and credible professional who is comfortable engaging with established business owners and senior decision-makers. The ideal candidate will be ambitious, resilient, financially motivated and confident discussing business investment and growth.
They will have excellent listening, questioning and communication skills, along with the discipline to follow proven sales processes and maintain high levels of organisation. They should be persistent without becoming unprofessional, accountable for their own performance and willing to embrace coaching and continuous development.
Most importantly, they will demonstrate integrity, professionalism and a genuine belief in the value of education, training and business growth.
The Ideal Candidate
The ideal Valente Consulting Business Development Manager is a proven B2B closer who can take ownership of the complete sales process. They can engage with new business enquiries, understand a prospect's needs, build value over the telephone, secure workshop attendance and confidently convert opportunities into sales through face-to-face consultations.
They understand business, sales, finance, contracts, CRM systems and pipeline management. Most importantly, they recognise that they are not simply selling a training programme. They are helping business owners invest in the knowledge, skills, systems and support required to build stronger, more profitable and scalable companies.
