Business Development Manager
Location: Field-Based (UK) Reporting to: Operations Director Head Office: Ongar, Essex – monthly visits required
About the Role
We are seeking an ambitious and results-driven Business Development Manager to join a growing procurement and supply chain business supporting the UK hospitality industry.
This field-based role focuses primarily on winning new hospitality clients and developing long-term commercial relationships across pubs, restaurants, hotels, bars and leisure venues.
You will be responsible for identifying new opportunities, managing a structured sales pipeline and guiding prospective clients through a consultative sales process, from initial meeting through to signed agreement and successful onboarding.
Working closely with the Account Management, Commercial and Operations teams, you will play a key role in growing the client base while ensuring customers receive exceptional service and value from supplier partnerships.

Key Responsibilities
- Proactively identify and develop new business opportunities within the hospitality sector
- Manage your own sales territory and prospect pipeline
- Generate new leads through prospecting, networking and industry engagement
- Conduct consultative meetings with prospective clients to understand their procurement, supply chain and operational requirements
- Present procurement solutions and supplier partnerships in a clear and compelling way
- Manage opportunities through the full sales cycle, from initial contact through to signed contract
- Maintain accurate pipeline management and sales forecasting
- Work closely with the Account Management team to ensure successful onboarding of new clients
- Attend relevant industry events, trade shows and networking opportunities
- Achieve agreed new business and revenue targets
- Keep all CRM systems and internal reporting tools up to date
Essential Experience & Skills
- Proven experience in field-based business development or sales
- Strong understanding of the UK hospitality sector
- Experience selling into pubs, restaurants, hotels, bars or leisure venues
- Demonstrated success in winning new business and managing a sales pipeline
- Ability to build long-term relationships with decision-makers
- Excellent communication, negotiation and presentation skills
- Highly self-motivated with a proactive and positive approach
- Strong organisation and territory management skills
- Competent using CRM systems and Microsoft Office
- Full, clean UK driving licence

This is a field-based role covering an assigned territory within the UK hospitality market.
Regular travel is required, with monthly visits to the Head Office in Ongar, Essex.
