Buyer - Capital Equipment

About the Role

Our client seeks a strategic Buyer specializing in Capital Equipment procurement to join their organisation, with the flexibility to work remotely from Derby or surrounding areas. This role involves the sourcing and acquisition of significant machinery, plant, and equipment required for operational expansion and upgrades. You will be responsible for leading complex tender processes, negotiating high-value contracts, and ensuring that capital investments align with strategic objectives and budgets. This position demands a sharp commercial mind and the ability to manage intricate purchasing projects from inception to completion.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the sourcing and procurement process for capital equipment, including machinery and large-scale assets.
• Develop and execute comprehensive tender processes, specifications, and evaluation criteria.
• Negotiate high-value contracts with equipment manufacturers and suppliers, focusing on total cost of ownership.
• Manage supplier relationships, ensuring timely delivery, installation, and commissioning of equipment.
• Collaborate closely with engineering, project management, and finance teams to define requirements and manage budgets.
• Conduct market analysis to identify best-in-class suppliers and innovative equipment solutions.

Requirements
