Buyer - E-commerce

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and trend-aware Buyer to join their e-commerce team in Plymouth . In this critical role, you will be responsible for sourcing, selecting, and purchasing products that align with the company's brand and customer needs, with a focus on maximizing profitability and driving sales through online channels. You will work closely with suppliers, the merchandising team, and marketing to ensure a competitive and appealing product offering. Key Responsibilities

• Identify market trends and customer demands to select and source appropriate products for the e-commerce platform.
• Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules with suppliers to achieve optimal cost and quality.
• Manage supplier relationships, ensuring consistent quality and timely delivery of goods.
• Analyze sales performance, inventory levels, and market data to inform purchasing decisions.
• Collaborate with the merchandising and marketing teams to develop product launch plans and promotional activities.
• Ensure all products meet company standards for quality, safety, and ethical sourcing.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Buyer or Category Manager, preferably within an e-commerce or retail context.
• Strong negotiation skills and experience building effective supplier relationships.
• Excellent understanding of market trends, consumer behavior, and product sourcing.
• Proficiency with inventory management systems and data analysis tools.
• Strong commercial acumen and a results-oriented approach.
• Based in or able to commute to Plymouth for this office-based role.
