Buyer - Facilities & Maintenance

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated and experienced Buyer with a focus on facilities and maintenance supplies and services to join their procurement team in Oxford . This role is essential for ensuring the company's operational sites are well-maintained and supplied with necessary resources. You will be responsible for sourcing and procuring a wide range of items, from building materials and equipment to maintenance services and consumables, managing supplier relationships, and driving cost-effectiveness. Key Responsibilities

• Source, negotiate, and procure a variety of facilities and maintenance supplies and services.
• Manage relationships with suppliers of building materials, MRO items, and maintenance contractors.
• Develop and implement procurement strategies for facilities-related spend.
• Ensure timely delivery of goods and services to support maintenance schedules and operational needs.
• Monitor supplier performance and conduct regular reviews to ensure quality and value.
• Collaborate with facilities management teams to understand their requirements and provide effective procurement solutions.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Buyer or Procurement Officer, with specific expertise in facilities and maintenance procurement.
• Strong negotiation skills and experience in managing supplier contracts.
• Good understanding of the facilities management supply chain.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in relevant procurement software and Microsoft Office.
• Ability to work effectively within a team and manage multiple priorities in the Oxford area.
