About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated Buyer II to join their procurement team in Stoke-on-Trent . This role is essential for managing the acquisition of specific goods and services, ensuring competitive pricing, quality, and timely delivery. You will be responsible for handling day-to-day purchasing activities, building and maintaining strong relationships with a portfolio of suppliers, and ensuring compliance with procurement policies. Key Responsibilities

• Manage the end-to-end purchasing process for assigned categories of goods or services.
• Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on price, quality, and reliability.
• Negotiate terms and conditions with suppliers to achieve the best possible outcomes.
• Process purchase orders and monitor delivery schedules to ensure on-time fulfillment.
• Maintain accurate procurement records and update supplier information.
• Resolve any issues or discrepancies related to orders, deliveries, or invoicing.
• Support senior procurement staff on larger sourcing projects.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Buyer or in a similar procurement role.
• Demonstrated ability to negotiate effectively with suppliers.
• Good understanding of procurement processes and supply chain management.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in managing multiple tasks.
• Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills for supplier interactions.
