Buyer - Indirect Materials

About the Role

Our client is looking for a skilled Buyer to manage the procurement of indirect materials and services in Bristol . You will be responsible for sourcing a wide range of goods, negotiating favourable terms with suppliers, and ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of necessary resources. This role requires a proactive approach to supplier management and a keen eye for detail to maintain optimal inventory levels and support operational efficiency. Working in a hybrid model, you will collaborate closely with various departments to understand their needs and secure the best value, contributing significantly to the company's bottom line and operational smoothness.

Key Responsibilities

• Source and procure a variety of indirect goods and services, including MRO, IT, and professional services.
• Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules with suppliers to achieve cost savings.
• Manage supplier relationships, evaluate performance, and resolve any issues that arise.
• Process purchase orders and ensure accurate record-keeping in the procurement system.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to define requirements and ensure satisfaction with procured goods/services.
• Monitor market trends and identify potential sourcing opportunities or risks.

Requirements

• 3-5 years of experience in a purchasing or buying role, specifically with indirect categories.
• Strong negotiation skills and a proven ability to achieve cost reductions.
• Experience using procurement software and ERP systems.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for stakeholder and supplier management.
• Ability to analyze data and make informed purchasing decisions.
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, or a related field is preferred.
