Buyer - Indirect Materials

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Buyer specializing in Indirect Materials to join their progressive procurement team, operating on a remote basis. This role is critical for managing the sourcing and procurement of non-production related goods and services, ensuring cost efficiency and strategic alignment with business objectives. You will leverage your expertise to negotiate with suppliers, develop category strategies, and drive continuous improvement in procurement processes from anywhere within the UK. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute strategic sourcing plans for various indirect spend categories (e.g., MRO, facilities, professional services, IT).
• Conduct market analysis to identify cost-saving opportunities and supply chain risks.
• Lead negotiations with suppliers to achieve optimal pricing, terms, and service level agreements.
• Manage supplier relationships, performance, and contracts to ensure ongoing value and compliance.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders across departments to understand their requirements and align procurement strategies accordingly.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement , with a significant focus on indirect spend categories.
• Demonstrated success in strategic sourcing, negotiation, and contract management.
• Experience working effectively in a remote or distributed team environment.
• Strong analytical and financial acumen to drive cost savings and value.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills, essential for remote collaboration.
