Buyer - Indirect Materials

About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive and experienced Buyer specializing in indirect materials to join their dynamic procurement team in Glasgow . This role is essential for sourcing and managing the procurement of a wide range of indirect goods and services, including office supplies, IT equipment, professional services, and MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Operations) items. You will be responsible for building strong supplier relationships, negotiating competitive pricing, and ensuring a reliable supply chain to support the organization's operational needs. Key Responsibilities

• Manage the end-to-end sourcing and purchasing process for all indirect material categories.
• Identify and qualify new suppliers, ensuring they meet quality, cost, and service requirements.
• Conduct negotiations with suppliers to achieve optimal pricing and contract terms.
• Monitor supplier performance and address any issues to ensure consistent delivery and quality.
• Collaborate with internal departments to understand their needs and provide effective procurement solutions.
• Maintain accurate records of purchases, contracts, and supplier agreements.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Buyer or in a similar procurement role, with a focus on indirect spend.
• Strong negotiation skills and a track record of achieving cost savings.
• Excellent understanding of procurement best practices and supply chain management.
• Proficiency in using procurement software and ERP systems.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
