Buyer - Indirect Spend

About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled and proactive Buyer to manage indirect spend procurement for their operations in Oxford . This role is responsible for sourcing a wide range of goods and services, including IT, facilities, marketing, and professional services, ensuring value for money and adherence to company standards. You will play a key role in supplier selection, negotiation, and contract management, contributing directly to the organisation's operational efficiency and financial health. Key Responsibilities

• Manage the end-to-end procurement process for indirect categories, from requisition to order fulfillment.
• Identify and evaluate potential suppliers, conducting RFPs and negotiations to secure favorable terms.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, monitoring their performance and compliance.
• Collaborate with internal departments to understand their indirect procurement needs and provide expert advice.
• Ensure all purchasing activities are conducted in compliance with company policies and ethical standards.
• Drive cost-saving initiatives and continuous improvement within indirect procurement.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Buyer or Procurement Specialist, with a focus on indirect spend.
• Strong negotiation skills and experience in managing supplier contracts.
• Good understanding of procurement best practices and supply chain management principles.
• Excellent analytical skills and proficiency in procurement software and MS Office, particularly Excel.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with stakeholders and suppliers.
• A proactive, problem-solving attitude and the ability to work effectively within a team.
