Buyer - Raw Materials

About the Role

Our client seeks an experienced Buyer focused on Raw Materials to join their manufacturing operations in Reading . This role is essential for securing a consistent and cost-effective supply of raw materials vital to production. You will manage supplier relationships, negotiate pricing and terms, and ensure quality and delivery standards are met. Key Responsibilities

• Source and procure a variety of raw materials, ensuring availability and competitive pricing.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, assessing their performance and reliability.
• Negotiate contracts and purchase orders to achieve cost savings and favorable payment terms.
• Monitor inventory levels and work with production planning to ensure timely material delivery.
• Ensure all procured materials meet required quality specifications and compliance standards.
• Stay informed about market trends, pricing fluctuations, and potential supply chain risks for raw materials.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Buyer, specifically within a manufacturing or industrial sector, focusing on raw materials.
• Strong negotiation skills and experience in managing supplier contracts.
• Knowledge of quality control procedures and supply chain management principles.
• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
• Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
