About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled Buyer with a focus on Raw Materials to join their procurement team in Belfast . This role is essential for ensuring the consistent and cost-effective supply of high-quality raw materials required for manufacturing operations. You will be responsible for supplier identification, negotiation, and relationship management, while working closely with production and quality control teams. This is a key position for someone with a strong understanding of commodity markets and a passion for optimizing supply chain efficiency, contributing directly to the company's production output and product quality.

Key Responsibilities

• Source and procure a range of raw materials , ensuring competitive pricing and timely delivery.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, managing contracts and performance.
• Conduct market research to stay informed about commodity price trends and potential supply disruptions.
• Collaborate with production and R&D teams to forecast material needs and identify new sourcing opportunities.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and company quality standards.
• Process purchase orders and manage inventory levels to meet production demands efficiently.

Requirements

• Demonstrable experience as a Buyer , with specific experience in sourcing raw materials or commodities.
• Strong negotiation skills and a proven ability to secure favourable terms.
• Knowledge of commodity markets and supply chain dynamics.
• Excellent organizational and communication abilities.
• Familiarity with ERP systems and procurement software.
• A degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field is desirable.
