BUYER Location: Mid Ulster Duration: Temporary Contract Vickerstock are working with a leading engineering and manufacturing organisation in the Mid Ulster area to recruit a Temporary Buyer to join their procurement team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Buyer or Procurement professional to join a busy manufacturing environment and play a key role in ensuring the timely availability of materials and components to support production. The Role Reporting to the Procurement function, the Temporary Buyer will be responsible for managing purchasing activities, supplier relationships and the day-to-day requirements of the business. Key responsibilities will include: Managing daily MRP purchase orders Monitoring and managing the order book Expediting outstanding and late orders Reviewing production forecasts and material requirements Ensuring materials are available to meet production requirements Developing and maintaining effective supplier relationships Liaising with suppliers regarding delivery schedules and outstanding orders Escalating late or critical parts where required Working closely with Production, Stores and other internal departments Supporting the management of design changes and their impact on purchasing requirements Resolving invoice queries in conjunction with Stores and Finance Ensuring purchasing activity is carried out in line with company policies and procedures Maintaining high standards in relation to EHS and company compliance requirements What You Need Previous experience within a Buyer, Purchasing or Procurement role Experience working within a manufacturing or engineering environment Strong understanding of MRP and purchase order processes Experience managing suppliers and expediting orders Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced production environment Strong communication and organisational skills Good attention to detail with the ability to prioritise workload effectively Experience working cross-functionally with Production, Stores and Finance This is an excellent opportunity for a Buyer with strong manufacturing experience to secure a temporary position within an established engineering organisation.
