About the Role

Our client is looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Buyer to join their established purchasing team in Manchester . In this role, you will be responsible for sourcing and purchasing goods and services required by the company, ensuring quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery. You will work closely with suppliers, manage inventory levels, and collaborate with internal departments to meet operational demands. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with a keen eye for detail and a strong understanding of supply chain dynamics to contribute to the smooth running of our client's operations and support their ongoing success.

Key Responsibilities

• Source and procure goods, materials, and services in accordance with company specifications and budget.
• Identify and evaluate potential new suppliers, negotiating prices and terms to achieve cost savings.
• Manage existing supplier relationships, ensuring adherence to contract terms and performance standards.
• Monitor inventory levels and place orders to meet production or operational requirements while minimizing stockholding costs.
• Process purchase orders, requisitions, and invoices accurately and efficiently.
• Liaise with logistics and warehouse teams to ensure smooth receipt and dispatch of goods.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Buyer or in a similar purchasing role.
• Good understanding of procurement processes and supply chain management principles.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• Proficiency in using purchasing software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Relevant certifications or a qualification in purchasing or supply chain management are advantageous.
