Cable Design and Costing Engineer

Connect Appointments is recruiting a Cable Design and Costing Engineer to join an established manufacturer in Dundee.

This is a role with genuine influence, you'll take customer requirements and turn them into manufacturable, cost-effective solutions, working directly with customers on technical proposals and closely with production to make sure every design stacks up both technically and commercially.

Designing wire and cable products to meet customer specs and industry standards Producing construction drawings, material specs and manufacturing instructions Costing designs across materials, labour and production to keep pricing competitive Preparing technical proposals and quotes directly for customers Working with production to make sure designs can actually be built Running feasibility studies and suggesting changes to improve performance or cut costTo be considered as a Cable Design and Costing Engineer, you will need:

A degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Materials Engineering, or equivalent experience Proven cable design experience in manufacturing - conductors, insulation, shielding and jacketing Strong costing and estimating skills CAD experience (TurboCAD preferred), plus Excel and Visio Working knowledge of standards such as UL, CSA and IEC The ability to explain technical detail clearly to non-technical peopleInterested in this Cable Design and Costing Engineer role?
