Job Description
Our growing Water consultancy client is seeking CAD Technicians to support on a range of water/wastewater infrastructure based out of their Fleet offices on a permanent basis with hybrid working.
Our client is a UK-based multidisciplinary engineering consultancy specialising in providing market-leading design, implementation and support solutions for the water and wastewater industry, in both network and treatment. They focus on innovative, sustainable solutions that address complex engineering challenges within the water industry, collaborating with clients on a wide range of projects including infrastructure design, environmental impact reduction, and network resilience enhancements.
The CAD Technicians will support engineering and design teams with high-quality technical drawings and documentation for water and wastewater treatment projects. As a CAD Technician, you will play a vital role in translating engineering concepts into precise technical drawings that guide the successful delivery of projects. You'll work alongside designers, engineers, and project managers to produce accurate drawings that meet industry standards and client requirements.
Responsibilities
In this role, you will focus on technical drafting, document control, and drawing updates for water infrastructure projects. You'll ensure that designs are accurately represented and maintained throughout the project lifecycle. Technical Drafting: Create and update 2D and 3D CAD drawings based on specifications from engineers and designers. Drawing Management: Maintain accurate drawing records, revisions, and documentation throughout projects. Compliance & Accuracy: Ensure all drawings adhere to UK water industry standards (WIMES, DSEAR, BS/EU standards). Collaboration: Work closely with engineers and designers to refine and improve drawings. Software Proficiency: Use AutoCAD, Revit, and other CAD tools to produce detailed technical drawings. Support Project Workflows: Assist with drawing reviews, modifications, and updates as project requirements evolve.
Skills/experience/qualifications
Strong technical proficiency, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively within a team. Minimum 1-3 years experience in CAD drafting, preferably in the water or infrastructure sector. Diploma or certification in CAD, Engineering, or a related field Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Civil 3D, or similar drafting software. Attention to Detail: Ability to produce precise and accurate drawings with minimal errors. Strong communication skills to work effectively with engineers and designers. Regulatory Awareness: Basic understanding of UK water industry standards (or willingness to learn). Organisational Skills: Ability to manage and update drawings efficiently within project timelines.Benefits
Salary £35k-£50k depending on experience 25 days holiday plus bank holidays 8% bonus (4% personal, 4% business performance) X4 life assurance 7% pension (3% personal) Hybrid working considered (3 days in Fleet min preferred)
