Job Description
The Role
Ontic, a leading licensor and manufacturer of complex engineering parts for the global aerospace and defence industries, is recruiting a Calibration Specialist (Calibration Coordinator) to support administration, calibration functions, equipment logistics, record maintenance and purchasing across multiple sites. This role will be based at our Bishops Cleeve, Cheltenham site. The role includes roughly 30% transport of calibration equipment (20–30kg) and requires a UK driving licence to operate the company calibration van.
Responsibilities
Coordinate calibration activities; manage equipment logistics and maintenance; maintain accurate calibration records; support purchasing activities; liaise with internal teams and external calibration providers to ensure equipment is calibrated on time and meets stringent quality and regulatory standards.
About you
You are proactive, highly organised, detail‑oriented and thrive in a fast‑paced environment. You manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, keep documentation and records accurate, and communicate effectively across cross‑functional teams. You work independently, are a collaborative team player, and have a proactive approach to problem‑solving. Strong IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word) and experience in maintaining electronic databases and records, are essential. Previous experience in an administration, coordination or support role within a technical, engineering, manufacturing or operational setting is required. Experience in the aerospace, manufacturing, engineering, quality or another highly regulated industry is a distinct advantage. Understanding of calibration processes, quality management systems and industry standards such as ISO9001 or AS9100, and experience with ERP or purchasing systems such as SAP, are also desirable.
