Care Assistant - Nights

We are looking for a warm, enthusiastic, and dedicated individual to join our award‑winning team as a Care Assistant at Acer House Care Home in Somerset.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high standards of personal care and contribute fully to the care team to ensure continuity of services to residents.
• Assist residents in all aspects of personal hygiene, ensuring optimum independence, dignity and respect.
• Recognise and understand clinical risk areas (weight loss, pressure sores, risk of falls, signs of infection) and elevate any identified risks promptly.
• Act courteously towards residents and visitors, respecting dignity and individuality.
• Practice safe systems of work across the range of tasks.

About You

We expect you to live our values of caring, supportive, honest, respectful, and accountable. Experience is not required; we provide a thorough induction and training programme.

• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
• Demonstrate initiative and be respectful towards residents & others in the home.
• Efficient worker, able to follow reasonable instructions from team members.
• Adaptive and flexible to cover a range of responsibilities on short notice.

Requirements

• DBS Disclosure check (cost covered by Avery Healthcare).
• Proof of eligibility to work in the UK.

Disclosure and Barring Service Check

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
