Our roles are either designated ‘site based’ or ‘home based’. ‘Site based’ roles can include up to two days a week working from home whilst ‘home based’ roles are based at home four days a week. Of course, managers designate which category roles are in based on the needs of the service and the circumstances.

Job Introduction

We’re recruiting Care Assistants to join our Supported Housing for Older People service at Milton Keynes City Council. In this rewarding role, you’ll support older people to live with dignity, independence and choice. This may include supporting people living with dementia or complex health needs.

Our Adult Services team supports some of the most vulnerable people in our community, providing essential care as part of a 24/7 service. As a Care Assistant, you’ll help make a real difference each day by delivering person-centred care, building positive relationships, and working closely with colleagues, families and other professionals.
We welcome applicants with care experience, but this is not essential. This role would suit someone starting out in care, as long as you bring a compassionate approach and a willingness to learn.

We have both Full time and Part time positions available.

Shift Pattern

These positions operate on a rolling two-week rota and include a mixture of early, late and weekend shifts.

Typical shift times:

• Early Shift: 7:00am - 2:00pm
• Late Shift: 2:00pm - 9:00pm
• Twilight Shift: 4:00pm - 9:00pm

Both roles include a combination of weekday and weekend working as part of a planned rota. The exact rota pattern will be discussed at interview.

• Deliver high-quality care and support in line with individual support plans

• Flexible and willing to support across different locations when needed
