About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and motivated Care Team Leader to join their dedicated team in Sunderland . This pivotal role involves leading and supervising a team of care assistants to deliver exceptional support and care to residents in a residential care setting. You will be responsible for ensuring high standards of care are met, supporting your team's professional development, and contributing to the overall management of the care home. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of care principles, excellent leadership qualities, and a genuine commitment to improving the lives of residents.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and manage a team of care assistants, providing guidance and support.
• Oversee the delivery of high-quality personal care and support to residents, ensuring their needs are met.
• Develop, implement, and review individual care plans, ensuring they are person-centred and up-to-date.
• Conduct regular supervisions and performance reviews for care staff.
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, policies, and procedures, including health and safety.
• Act as a point of contact for residents, their families, and external healthcare professionals.

Requirements

• Proven experience in a senior care or team leader role within a care home setting.
• NVQ Level 3 or 4 in Health and Social Care or equivalent qualification required.
• Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate a team.
• Excellent understanding of CQC standards and other relevant legislation.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated ability to handle challenging situations with empathy and professionalism.
