Carpenter – Social Housing
Location: East London Rate: £21–£22 per hour CIS Employment Type: Full-time Vehicle: Company van and fuel card provided
About the Role
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Carpenter to join a well-established social housing contractor, carrying out repairs and maintenance across residential properties throughout East London.
This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled Carpenter looking for consistent, long-term work with competitive rates, a company van and fuel card provided.
Key Responsibilities
Carrying out responsive repairs and maintenance within social housing properties Completing carpentry and joinery repairs to a high standard Repairing and replacing doors, frames, skirting boards, architraves and flooring Fitting and repairing kitchen units, cupboards and worktops Carrying out first and second fix carpentry works where required Repairing windows, locks and other fixtures and fittings Completing repairs following reports from residents and clients Diagnosing issues and identifying appropriate repair solutions Working efficiently to complete jobs within required timescales Maintaining a clean and safe working environment Providing a professional and courteous service to residents Updating job information using a PDA/mobile system where required
Requirements
Previous experience working as a Carpenter, ideally within social housing or property maintenance Strong carpentry and joinery skills Experience carrying out responsive repairs Good understanding of health and safety requirements Ability to work independently and manage a daily schedule Good communication and customer service skills Full UK driving licence Own basic carpentry tools Relevant NVQ/City & Guilds qualification or equivalent is desirable
