About the Role
Our client, a prominent leader in the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) sector, is seeking a sharp and analytical Category Analyst to join their entirely remote team. This role is crucial for supporting category management by providing in-depth data analysis, market insights, and strategic recommendations that drive category growth and performance. You will work closely with Category Managers and sales teams to interpret complex data sets, identify trends, and contribute to the development of effective category strategies that enhance product performance and sales within the competitive Nottingham market and across the UK. Key Responsibilities
- Analyze sales data, market trends, and shopper insights to identify opportunities and challenges within specific categories.
- Develop detailed reports and presentations on category performance, market share, and competitive landscape.
- Support the Category Management team in developing category strategies, planograms, and promotional plans.
- Monitor the performance of new product launches and marketing initiatives.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure data accuracy and timely reporting.
- Assist in forecasting category performance and identifying potential risks and opportunities.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Category Analyst, Data Analyst, or in a similar analytical role, preferably within the FMCG sector.
- Strong proficiency in data analysis tools, particularly Excel, and experience with retail data systems (e.g., Nielsen, IRI).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Ability to interpret complex data and translate findings into actionable business insights.
- Good communication and presentation skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Statistics, Economics, or a related quantitative field.
