Category Assistant - FMCG

About the Role

Our client is seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Category Assistant to support their Category Management team in the vibrant FMCG sector , based in Bristol . You will assist in managing product categories, analyzing sales data, supporting promotional activities, and liaising with internal teams and external suppliers. Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive support to Category Managers in the day-to-day management of assigned product categories.
• Assist in analyzing sales performance, market data, and competitor activities to identify category trends and opportunities.
• Support the planning and execution of promotional activities and in-store marketing initiatives.
• Help maintain product information databases and ensure accuracy of pricing and assortment data.
• Liaise with internal departments (e.g., sales, marketing, logistics) and external suppliers to facilitate category operations.
• Prepare reports, presentations, and ad-hoc analysis as required by the category management team.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Economics, or a related field.
• Some experience in a commercial or analytical role is advantageous, preferably within FMCG or retail .
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with the ability to perform data analysis.
• Excellent organizational skills and a high level of attention to detail.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• A proactive attitude and a desire to learn and grow within the FMCG industry .
