About the Role

Our client, a leading enterprise in the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) sector, is seeking a motivated and organized Category Assistant to support their Category Management team in Oxford . This entry-level position offers a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience in category planning, data analysis, and supplier engagement within the dynamic FMCG market. You will work closely with Category Managers to ensure product assortments are optimized and commercial objectives are met. This role is crucial for maintaining the smooth operation and strategic development of key product categories.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist Category Managers in managing product assortments, including data analysis for ranging decisions.
• Support the execution of category plans, promotions, and merchandising strategies.
• Collect and analyze sales data, market trends, and competitor information for reporting purposes.
• Help maintain supplier relationships and assist with procurement and inventory management tasks.
• Prepare presentations and reports for internal stakeholders and supplier meetings.
• Ensure accurate product information and pricing are maintained across all platforms.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Economics, or a related field.
• Some experience or a strong interest in retail, marketing, or the FMCG industry .
• Excellent analytical and numerical skills, with proficiency in Excel.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment and manage tasks efficiently.
