About the Role

Our client, a prominent entity in the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) market, is seeking a detail-oriented and commercially astute Category Buyer to join their procurement team in Norwich . This role is essential for sourcing high-quality products and raw materials at competitive prices, ensuring a consistent and efficient supply chain. You will be responsible for managing supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, and driving cost savings within your designated product categories. Key Responsibilities

• Source and procure products and raw materials for assigned categories, ensuring quality and competitive pricing.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, managing performance and conducting regular reviews.
• Negotiate contracts, terms, and conditions with suppliers to achieve cost savings and favourable agreements.
• Monitor market trends, commodity prices, and supplier capabilities to identify risks and opportunities.
• Collaborate with internal departments, such as planning and operations, to ensure supply chain alignment.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Buyer or Procurement Specialist, preferably within the FMCG sector.
• Demonstrated success in negotiating favourable terms and achieving cost savings.
• Strong understanding of sourcing strategies and supply chain management.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
