Key Responsibilities
- Manage the sourcing and procurement of goods and services for designated FMCG categories, ensuring competitive pricing and optimal quality.
- Develop and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with suppliers, negotiating contracts and service level agreements.
- Conduct market analysis to identify cost-saving opportunities, supplier innovations, and potential risks.
- Collaborate with the category management and sales teams to understand product needs and market trends.
- Monitor supplier performance and implement corrective actions as needed to ensure delivery timelines and quality standards are met.
- Contribute to the development and execution of category strategies to support business objectives.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Category Buyer or Buyer within the FMCG or retail sector.
- Demonstrated success in negotiation, contract management, and supplier relationship management.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to manage budgets and analyse costs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in procurement software and tools.
