Our client is seeking a strategic and experienced Category Development Manager to lead category growth initiatives for their prominent FMCG portfolio in Nottingham . You will collaborate closely with sales, marketing, and retailer partners to develop compelling category strategies that align with consumer needs and business objectives. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute comprehensive category strategies, including assortment optimization, pricing, and promotional planning.
- Analyze market data, consumer insights, and shopper behaviour to identify growth opportunities and category trends.
- Build strong collaborative relationships with key retail accounts, understanding their business needs and delivering value-added category solutions.
- Partner with internal sales and marketing teams to create effective sales tools and in-store execution plans.
- Manage product portfolio performance, ensuring optimal distribution and shelf presence.
- Present category reviews and strategic recommendations to senior management and retail partners.
Requirements
- Significant experience in category management or a related strategic role, preferably within the FMCG sector.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze complex data, derive actionable insights, and translate them into effective category strategies.
- Strong understanding of the retail landscape, including merchandising, promotional planning, and shopper marketing.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Proficiency in data analysis software and relevant category management tools.
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a relevant quantitative field.
