About the Role
Our client is seeking a sharp and analytical Category Insights Analyst to support their FMCG business in Sheffield . This role is instrumental in translating complex data into actionable insights that drive category strategy and decision-making. You will work closely with the category management and sales teams to understand consumer behavior, market trends, and competitive landscapes, ultimately influencing product assortment, pricing, and promotional strategies. The hybrid working model allows for essential team collaboration and data analysis sessions in the office, complemented by focused remote work.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze sales data, market share, and shopper behavior to identify key trends and opportunities within FMCG categories.
- Develop insightful reports and presentations for category managers and sales teams, translating data into actionable recommendations.
- Monitor competitor activity and market dynamics, providing regular updates and strategic implications.
- Support the development of category strategies, including assortment planning, pricing recommendations, and promotional effectiveness evaluations.
- Utilize data visualization tools to effectively communicate insights and findings to a diverse audience.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to define data requirements and ensure data accuracy for reporting.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Statistics, Marketing, or a related analytical field.
- 2-3 years of experience in an analytical or insights role, preferably within the FMCG or retail sector.
- Proficiency in data analysis and interpretation using tools such as Excel, SQL, and ideally BI platforms (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
- Strong understanding of retail and FMCG market dynamics.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex data clearly.
- Comfortable working in a hybrid model, balancing in-office collaboration with remote data analysis.
