About the Role
Our client is seeking a strategic and analytical Category Manager with a passion for the FMCG sector to join their team in Southampton . This role is instrumental in driving category growth and profitability for the confectionery portfolio within major retail accounts. You will be responsible for developing category strategies, analysing market trends, managing product assortments, and collaborating closely with sales and marketing teams to deliver outstanding results. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement category strategies that drive sales, market share, and profitability for the confectionery category within key retail accounts.
- Analyse category performance, consumer insights, and market trends to identify growth opportunities and develop actionable plans.
- Manage product assortment, pricing, promotions, and planograms to optimise category performance.
- Collaborate with sales, marketing, and supply chain teams to ensure alignment and successful execution of category initiatives.
- Build strong relationships with retail partners, presenting category insights and strategic recommendations.
- Monitor competitor activity and identify potential threats and opportunities within the FMCG market .
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Category Manager or in a similar analytical role within the FMCG industry .
- Strong understanding of retail operations, category management principles, and consumer behaviour.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques.
- Demonstrated ability to develop strategic plans and influence stakeholders.
- Strong presentation and communication skills, with experience presenting to retail partners.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field; relevant professional qualifications are a plus.
