Category Manager - Indirect Procurement

About the Role

Our client is seeking a seasoned Category Manager specializing in Indirect Procurement to join their dynamic team based in Leeds . Key Responsibilities

• Develop and own the end-to-end category strategy for assigned indirect spend areas, focusing on cost, quality, risk, and innovation.
• Lead cross-functional teams in complex sourcing events, including RFx processes, supplier negotiations, and contract award.
• Manage key supplier relationships, conduct regular performance reviews, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Analyze spend data and market intelligence to identify opportunities for cost savings and value creation.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant procurement policies, ethical standards, and contractual obligations.
• Collaborate closely with business unit leaders to understand their needs and align procurement strategies accordingly.

Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in indirect procurement, with a proven track record in category management.
• Demonstrated expertise in sourcing and managing categories such as IT, professional services, MRO, or facilities management.
• Strong negotiation, influencing, and stakeholder management skills.
• Proficiency in procurement analytics tools and e-sourcing platforms.
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Economics, or a related discipline.
